For it was ever our delight, To love each other day and night, Nor would I do a thing to spite My Sister. ~”Mr. Lynch,” 1800s, in imitation of Ann Taylor (1782–1866)
Nothing quite like a night out with my sisters
Enjoying a screening of the iconic movie, “Napoleon Dynamite” tonight at the Tarrytown Music Hall. The three original stars who played Napoleon, Uncle Rico and Pedro were in house for a fun Q@A.
I am an ex New Yorker who still misses the vibrancy of the city. I seek out the humor in every day life and relay it through my stories in the hope others will appreciate as well. I love to write about growing up with my fantastically unique Irish mother whose memory inspires me every day. Although she is no longer with us, her antics are an endless staple for my tales. I currently live in Connecticut with my husband, two sons and toy fox terrier Anabel.

My sisters live over 6 hours away from me and there are 16 years between myself and the baby. We are all such different people. I am envious of others who have close relationships with their siblings.
Love them but my husband wants to move and it is a lot farther than 6 hours away! I am dreading it if we have to go…I too understand a large age difference – my youngest sister (not pictured) is 10 years apart from me and the relationship is different as we seem to have grown up in different worlds.
I had sisters, too, three of them. The sister nearest in age to me lives in Australia and has done for around thirty years. We rarely see each other, and I miss her. I have two other sisters after that one. One lives about two hundred miles away, and the other about three hundred miles away, so I don’t see them very often. The youngest of us four is fourteen years younger than me, and although we were once quite distant from each other, probably because of the age gap, we have become closer now that she is older. Your sisters in your photo all look lovely. We are very blessed to have siblings. I do hope you don’t have to move away from them. You will adapt in time like I had to do with my Aussie sister, but it’s never easy. Thinking of you, Kathy … Ellie x 🦢🌷🕊
