I am an ex New Yorker who still misses the vibrancy of the city. I seek out the humor in every day life and relay it through my stories in the hope others will appreciate as well. I love to write about growing up with my fantastically unique Irish mother whose memory inspires me every day. Although she is no longer with us, her antics are an endless staple for my tales. I currently live in Connecticut with my husband, two sons and toy fox terrier Anabel. View more posts

Looks like your son is eager to jump into the cool waters at the beach. Looks like it was a lovely sunny day and hope you enjoyed your time at the beach. Beautiful photo, well timed 🙂

I was always excited to see the sea. Now it is usually only once a year.

My dad used to sing (and was always amused by) a little jingle that went “A sailor went to sea, sea, sea. To see what he could see, see, see. But all that he could see, see, see was the bottom of the great blue sea, sea, sea. Always stayed with me as does my love of the ocean 🙂

Thanks Susi! I feel there are few places as beautiful as the Atlantic Ocean on Long Island. The sand is smooth with no rocks. This town is called “Montauk” and is known by locals as “The End” because it is the eastern most top of Long Island. A little trivia for you ☺️

Couldn’t be a more appropriate photo to express the view of jubilance, superb action photo!
Awkward! Reference the comment you made on my blog, I don’t think you have any worries. Oh gosh hope I’ve said the right thing 😟

What a fantastic photograph! It smacks of such joy. What a wonderful place that looks. Is the sea really that blue? It’s gorgeous, and I’d love to dip my toe into the water. The sea in the UK is usually a murky grey-green colour. Not quite as inviting as yours.

Thanks Ellie! My son loves the water and on this particular occasion it was February!!! and the ocean freezing but he didn’t care. Still took the plunge. He is studying at the moment in Dublin and a few times went with friends to the seaside. He sent me video of running into Irish sea which is possibly colder. Loved him for that and yes, I too love this picture as it really shouts out his joy. I may have enhanced the blue water a bit in the photograph but the ocean here in an area called the Hamptons is just spectacular and yes, very blue.
